POWER Tribe Community,
Charleston County has announced 20 vacancies on county boards and commissions.
I want to encourage each of you to take a look.
Throughout my career, and especially through The POWER Tribe, I have held one conviction: women of color belong in every room where decisions are made, resources are allocated, and our communities are impacted.
For the past four years, I have been intentionally preparing and positioning the women of The POWER Tribe for opportunities just like this, not simply to occupy seats, but to serve as thoughtful, courageous, and effective stewards of our communities.
Serving on a board or commission is more than civic service. It is an opportunity to lend your expertise, influence public policy, advocate for your community, and ensure that diverse perspectives help shape important decisions.
I encourage you to review the current openings here: Charleston County Boards & Commissionshttps://www.charlestoncounty.gov/departments/county-council/boards-and-commissions.php?r=537
If you're curious about the process, wondering whether a particular board is a good fit, or simply want to talk through what board service entails, I'd be happy to help.
Please schedule a 15-minute conversation with me, and I'll answer any questions you have about the application process, expectations, or how to discern whether this is the right opportunity for you. Just hit reply on this email.
Whether you decide to apply this cycle or not, I hope you'll take a moment to imagine yourself in these spaces. Representation matters, but stewardship matters even more.
Our communities deserve leaders who are prepared, thoughtful, and willing to serve.
I believe many of those leaders are already in this community.
In Light, Love and POWER,
Kenya Dunn
